She was predeceased by: her sister-in-law Heather Morris; her mother-in-law Bonnie Lucas; and her grandparents, Caroline Cassity, Elmer and Irma Morris.
She is survived by: her parents, Michael Lavon and Barbara Sue Morris, Sr. (Cassity); her child Sutty Sue; her husband Mike Scates; her children, Derek Scates and Elizabeth Scates; her brother Mike Morris of Columbia; her nieces and nephews, Tre and Addie Morris of Columbia; her father-in-law Gilbert Lucas of Brookfield; and her siblings-in-law, Patty Schreckhise (Dale) of Brookfield, Tina Kary of Overland Park, Melinda Mosley (Everett) of Savannah, Junior Scates (Sally) of Orrick, Randy Lucas (Julie) of Marceline and Matthew Lucas of Brookfield. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many friends.
