He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harley and Anna May Norris Barnett; his son Elmer Barnett Jr.; his sons-in-law, Harold Greenwood and Russell Johnson; and his siblings, Paul Barnett, Dale Barnett, Glen Barnett, Ralph Barnett, Lester Barnett, Ruth Woods, Helen Young, Bessy Wilfond and Betty Jane Barnett.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Barnett; his children, Deborah Johnson of Breckenridge, Jeffrey Barnett of Sandy Utah and Cynthia Greenwood of Breckenridge; and his sisters, Ethel Booth of Trenton and Naomi Scott of Spickard. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
