He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Gerdel and Carol Gerdel (Chittendon); his brother Phillip; and his stepfather Al Gerdel. He is survived by: his wife Janna Gerdel of Branson, Missouri; his children, David Gerdel (Gina) of Independence, Missouri, Rebecca Gerdel Balliet (Chad) of Nixa, Missouri, Shih Tzu and SuSu; and his siblings, Barbara Steen (Bill) of Raymore, Missouri and Doug Gerdel (Patti) of Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Branson Veteran's of America 913 and Bloom Church.
