He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bookout and Elsie Bookout (Palmer); his wife Helen; and his siblings, Harvey Bookout, Emma Moore, Marjorie Bookout and Virginia Hartzell.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Helen Plummer; his children, Gary Bookout (Carol) of Festus, Missouri, Nita (David Ernst) of Joplin, Missouri and Marsha (Bryan Miller) of Branson, Missouri.; his sister Frances Wyman (Elwood) of Reuter, MO; his grandchildren, Matthew Bookout (Trisha), Mark Bookout, Sarah Chadbourn (Jonathan), Jonathan Ernst, Hannah Schwab (Zach), Bethany Schwab (Ethan), Seth Ernst (Zhengyuan), Elizabeth Miller and Ethan Miller; and his sister-in-law Carmen Plummer. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
