He was predeceased by: his mother Jess; his siblings, Willard Hartung (Barb), Martin Hartung, Fred Hartung and Joan Summers (Bob); and his stepson Rick Richardson Jr..
He is survived by: his nephews, Jayce and Brian; his wife Angelia Hartung; his children, Ron Hartung of Bourbon, Dan Hartung (Toshiko) of Dallas, TX, Amanda Graddy (Andrew) of Leasburg, MO, Miryha "Pete" Tackett (Bill Kelley) of Bourbon and Becky Richardson of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Jesse, Jacob, Jordon, Cole, Lexi, Jackson, Miley, Gunner, Pierce and Emerson Leroy; his brother Paul Hartung (Judy) of Warrenton, MO; and his sister-in-law Ruth Hartung of Sullivan, MO.
Memorials may be given in Ernie's memory to Shriners Children's St. Louis.
