We bid farewell to Derek A. Bruning of Bourbon, Missouri, born in Rolla, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 28, 2024 at the age of 42. Derek touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his father Jeffrey A. Bruning; and his grandparents, Larry and Marcie Bruning. He is survived by: his grandfather Roy Watson; his wife Carreen Schatz; his children, Trinity, Charlotte, Blane, Samuel and Doris; his mother Jackie Wildhagen; his stepmother Jill Bruning; his siblings, Stacy Bishop (Craig), David Ludwigsen (Lisa), Elly, Mandy Bruning and Caitlyn Wildhagan; his grandparent Pat Watson; his parents-in-law, Jesse and Doris Schatz; and his brother-in-law Jody Schatz (Danielle). He is also survived by his large, loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Eaton Funeral Home (347 N Clark St, Sullivan, MO 63080). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
