He is survived by: his parents, John Roy Elsey, Jr. and Marjorie Whiteman Elsey; his spouse Diana Kay Smith; his children, Samuel Allen Elsey, Clarence Roy Elsey, Patrick Eugene Elsey and Anastasia Marie Elsey; his siblings, James Elsey, Kenneth Elsey, Cathy Newman, Lilly Newman, Dora Gravel and Marla Smith; and his grandchild Alexandria Marie Holbrook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Markland-Yager Funeral Home to assist with funeral service expense.
