He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Bessie; and also Dean. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his sons, Brandon Lee Johnston of Sioux City, Michael James Johnston of Sioux City and Ryan Iadanza of Sioux City; his granddaughter Cheyenne; and his nieces and nephews, Deanamarie Naylor, Jared Johnston, Kayla Johnston, Nathan Brandes and Jimmy Brandes.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Eagles Arie #1022 of Boonville.
