He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Schumacher and Marian Schumacher; his wife Ruth M. Dittmer; his son Joe Schumacher; and his siblings, Marjul Zimmer and Bill Schumacher.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jul Eschrich (Ernie) and Jan Stearns (Cla); and his grandchildren, Zac Stearns (Alana) and Becca Wilson (Jacob). He is also survived by two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
