She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Wilkerson and Edna Mae Wilkerson (Rohr); her husband John F. "Don" Viertel; and her granddaughter Jennifer Marie Viertel. She is survived by: her children, John F. Viertel Jr. (Smokey) of Jefferson City, Bruce E. Viertel (Margaret) of Boonville, Christy Pickell (Chris) of Boonville and Tim Viertel (Gina) of Boonville; her grandchildren, Daniel Forest Viertel, Brian Viertel (Candace), Trevor Viertel (Jessica), Trista Bartolacci (Justin), Travis Cook (Ashley), Nathan Cook (Amanda), Alec Viertel and Jared Viertel; and her great grandchildren, Cole, Kayleigh, Elizabelle Viertel, Brayden, Ella Viertel, Trenton, Trace Bartolacci, Weston, Emmett Cook, Lorelai and Genevieve Cook.
A graveside service for Doris will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Walnut Grove Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a. m. Due to the current pandemic, the family has made a time for the public to pay their respects Friday morning, November 6, 2020 from 8:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to The First Christian Church DOC of Boonville or Unlimited Opportunities, INC.
