As David departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy David leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Louise Payne Stephens; his son David E. Stephens II; his grandson Jeremy Wolfe; and his parents, Benjamin Young Stephens and Cora Odella Stephens (Kell).
He is survived by: his children, Debra Yokley (Roger), Judy Wolfe (Jerry) and John Stephens (Joy); and his daughter-in-law Jonet Jackson (Stephens). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren as well as extended family and many close friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Howard Funeral Home (1397 W Ashley Rd, Boonville, MO 65233). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church (17752 Boonslick Dr, Boonville, MO 65233).
Memorial contributions may be made to Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church, and the family suggests that you send flowers to homebound person that you know.
