He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Byrd and Rosemary Byrd (Thomere); his son David Abney; and his sister Brenda Rose Harrison. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Byrd (Betke); his children, Tammy Sparks (Donald), Sherry Abney (Leean Couch) and Scott Byrd (Debbie); his grandchildren, Casandra Sparks, Paden Sparks, Amanda Byrd-Peery (Chance), Sara Byrd and Avery Abney; and his great grandchildren, Emerson Welch and Harley Jo Goggin.
The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Wendell "Pete" Byrd 's name.
