He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Bess and Letha E. Bess (Black). He is survived by: his wife Johanna M. Bess (Smith); his children, Linda Trebing (Daniel), Daniel Bess (Kimberly), Ellen Wesling (Michael) and Rhonda Freant (John); and his grandchildren, Hannah Holman (Mike), Desiree Key, Molly Lyeki (Adam), Taylor Harber (Nathan) and Lee Marvin Bess. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
