He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Thomas and Alice Thomas (Moore); his son Donnie Watkins; his brother Joseph Thomas; and his brother-in-law Charlie Wall.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia M. Thomas; his children, James John Thomas, Joseph Michael Thomas, David Clemons and Kimberly Thomas; his sisters, Jeanne Kujuth (Harry) and Joyce Wall; and his aunt Nancy Moore. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
