He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Thornton and Helen Rokan-Miller; his son Michael Rokan; his brother Christopher Miller; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Prudence Pettus; and his siblings-in-law, Clinton Pettus and Glenda Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Rokan (Pettus); his sons, Joe Rokan, Jr. (Susie) and Brian Rokan (Shari); his grandchildren, Briley Rokan (Jeff Kamper), Bailey Rokan and Sophia Rokan (Richard Pyeatt); his great grandchild Syreniti Rokan; his brother Tim Miller (Tina); his siblings-in-law, Norman Pettus (Nancy) and Carol Pettus; and his cousin Tommy Lorinc (Diane). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
