He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshel R. Choate and Agnes M. Choate (Boswell). He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Jennifer Robinson, Regina Choate and Tim Choate (Sarah); his stepchildren, Melissa Johnson (Kevin), Mark Rogers (Kelly), Matthew Hilt and Melanie Chance (Jesse); his siblings, Dennis Choate (Rachel), Zelma Sullington, Velma Williams, Ann Choate, Susie Burton, Carolyn Mitchell and Liz Pratt; and his pets, Gidget and Hoss. He is also survived by five grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.

Ray was involved with the Ozarks Area Racers Foundation.
