He was predeceased by: his parents, David John and Jessie Cecilia Carroll (Luster); and his siblings, Leroy Brake, Albert Carroll, June Sherry, Sherly Schafer and Lorraine Sabo.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, David Carroll, Jr. (Michelle) of Lincoln, MO, Lara Johnson (Stanley) of Buffalo, MO, Jennifer Long (Steve Retherford) of Springfield, MO, Christie Kirby (Jeff) of Humansville, MO and Misty Stortz (Paul) of Bolivar, MO; his grandchildren, Raven, Reba, Trevor, Thomas, Clay, Davey, Nicholas, Jessica, Sean, Michael, Kaitlyn and Lauren; his siblings, Charles Carroll of Pekin, IL and Pam Sprinkle (Ed) of Mt. Vernon, IL; his siblings-in-law, James Laird of Bolivar, MO and Mary Carroll of Petersburg, IL; and his friend Rod Campbell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
