He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammie James and Edna Kelley (Melton); his son Steven Eugene Kelley; his brothers, Sammie James Kelley Jr. (Phyllis) and Donald Kelley; and his uncle Isom Kelley.
He is survived by: his wife Doris June Bass; his daughter Tonya Renee Kelley; his sister Vera Kelley Trogdon; his grandchildren, Michelle Kelley Turner, Steven Eugene Kelley Jr. and Dustin Gulledge (Tina); and his great grandchildren, Taylor Turner, Tessarae Gulledge, Samarah Gulledge and Gage Turner (Kale Turner). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
