He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Griffin and Lucile Griffin (Montgomery); and his brothers, Harold and Jim Griffin. He is survived by: his wife Martha Griffin of Blue Springs, MO; his sisters, Norma Monday of Independence, MO, Patricia Haskell of Blue Springs, MO, Elaine Hayden of Blue Springs, MO, Wanda O'Neill of Tyler, TX and Nancy Spain (Bruce) of Lexington, MO; his niece Cathy Campbell (Ed) of Blue Springs, MO; and his nephews, Doug Smith (Brenda) of Independence, MO and Mike Smith (Joyce) of Blue Springs, MO. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Association.
