He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathy Grate of Blue Springs, MO; his children, Carrie "Kiamm" McDaniel (Blake) of Blue Springs, MO, Joey "Choppy" Grate (Amber) of Oak Grove, MO, Krystal "Dobbie" Grate of Kansas City, MO and Kassie "Dew" Grate of Grain Valley, MO; his stepsons, Brian Balesteri and Jamie Balesteri; his mother Delores Grate; and his brothers, Jack Grate (Joan), Bill Grate (Debbie), Bob Grate (Darlene) and Tom Grate (Mary).
