He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Stegeman and Kaye Stegeman. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his sons, Matthew (Suzi) and Bradley (Megan); and his brother Brian Stegeman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Papa Smurf's last act of kindness was donating his corneas to help give two other people the gift of sight. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Wayside Waifs in memory of Steve.
