He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Thrasher and Mary Thrasher; his daughter Cheryl K; and his siblings, Ruth Hess, Carol Dexter, Dorothy Malone, Mary Lou Davis, Eleanor Alkire and Olan Thrasher.

He is survived by: his former wife Dorothy Houston; his wife Dorothy Thrasher of Blue Springs, MO; his daughter Karen Lea McCune (John) of San Martin, CA; his grandchildren, Jason Rice (Stephanie) of Maple Valley, WA, Ashley Young (Jeremy) and Cortney Trudeau (Kiel) of Rocklin, CA; his great grandchildren, Lilly, Colby, Paisley, Charley, Luke and Jack; and his siblings, Dolores Hensley of Kansas City, MO, Theresa Dennison (Jim) of Sonoma, CA and Patrick Thrasher (Darlinda) of Tulsa, OK..

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
