With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George F. Smith Jr. of Blue Springs, Missouri, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on April 29, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Frederick Sr. and Marion May Smith (Melvin); and his brothers, Joe, Ron, Leo and John Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Smith; his children, Doug Smith (Kelli) of Independence, MO, Jennifer Shrout (Rick) of Bates City, MO and Brian Decker (Dustee) of Independence, MO; and his siblings, Patricia Bourquin (Howard) of Mesquite, TX, Tom Smith of DeSoto, KS and Phillip Smith of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
