He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Portz and Leva M. Portz (Horton); and his brothers, Harry, Jerome and Gus.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Portz of Blue Springs; his children, Michael Portz (Candy) of Blue Springs and Maria Brenizer (Matt) of Raymore; his grandchildren, Collin Portz (Addy), Trevor Portz, Hudson Portz, Benjamin Brenizer and Rebekah Brenizer; and his siblings, Leonard, Charles and Eileen (Don Mousel). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
