He was predeceased by: his son Timothy Robert Szabo; his parents, Joseph Szabo and Ann Szabo; and his brother Ray Szabo. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Lundergan; his daughters, Kari Szabo, Erin Lynn Szabo Mertz (Darren) and Rebecca Susann Szabo Mertz (Brian); his grandchildren, Telsie Szabo, Grant Mertz, Ayden Mertz, Barett Mertz, Avery Mertz, Garrison Mertz, Anderson Mertz and Giorgia Mertz; his great grandchildren, Walker, Sadie, Grayden and Riggs; and his sister Marilyn Hardy.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at St. Therese Parish.
