He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Gertrude Flannery and Charles William Thornley; and his siblings, Virgil, Jr., Hugo, Jane and Leona.
He is survived by: his wife Nelma Jean Cantrell; his children, Mitchell Thornley (Paula) of Clinton, MO, Leah Leake (Len) of Aiken, SC, Teresa Plumlee (Brian) of Urich, MO and Sue Determan (Mike) of Clinton, MO.; and his grandchildren, Tara Dettmer (Ryan) of Centerview, MO, Tiffany Kuntemeier (Drew) of St. Peters, MO, Nathan Campbell (Katy) of San Antonio, TX, Derek Thornley (Taryn) of Chilhowee, MO, Chelsea Thornley (Traver Clifford) of St. Charles, MO, Lana Swopes of Holden, MO, Lindsey Peterson (Kyle) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Tyler Propst of Maryville, MO, Jessica Determan (Derrick Stoneking) of Leeton, MO, Madeline Determan, Owen Determan of Clinton, MO, Quintin Plumlee (Heather) of South Bend, IN and Lauren Plumlee (Shawn Deegan) of Shawnee, KS. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
