He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Joseph and Leona Schlichting (Hulskotter); and his brothers, Joseph Schlichting and John "Dave" Schlichting. He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Clark) of Sweet Spring; his children, Lisa Hankey (Doug) of Ford City, Pennsylvania, Brian Schlichting (Michelle) of Sweet Springs, Missouri and Cristina Lane (Jeff) of Buckner, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Chloe (Rafe Hankey), Colin, Naomi (Finnley Schlichting) and Garrett Petty (Brooklynn Lane); his stepgrandchildren, Nick, Jennifer (Gomez) and Landon Lane; his siblings, James Schlichting (Betty) of Oak Grove, Missouri, William Schlichting (Karan) of Sunset, Louisiana, Ann Jedele (Chuck) of Winfield, Kansas and Esther Maxwell of Independence; and his sister-in-law Barbara Schlichting of Wentzville.
