He is survived by: his wife Betty Janice Johnson; his son Kevin Dale Wood (Mark Forney) of Hannibal, Missouri; his grandsons, Christian and Lucas Forney-Wood; his sisters, Leota Sue Cobb of Republic and Wanda Witherspoon (DeWayne) of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Wood of Monett and Newell Bowles of Mt. Vernon, Missouri..
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home- Mt. Vernon (510 E Cherry St, Mt Vernon, MO 65712). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Rock Prairie Cemetery (6012 Lawrence 1242, Ash Grove, MO 65604).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Onward Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
