It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Leroy Nelson of Bethany, Missouri, who passed away on August 17, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Nelson and Grace Nelson (Foster); his sister Martha; his brother-in-law Calvin Boyd; his brother Charles Nelson; and his sister-in-law Sharon Nelson.
He is survived by: his close friend Verlene Vance; his sons, Todd Nelson (Tami) of Hays, KS and Tony Nelson (Brenda) of Bethany, MO; his grandchildren, Toni Whitmer (Benjamin) of Hays, KS, Tyler Nelson (Shante) of Hays, KS, Garrett Nelson (Tiffany), West and Bradley Nelson (Melody) of Clive, IA.; his great grandchildren, Layne Whitmer, Molly Whitmer, Elijah Whitmer of Hays, KS and Gracie Mae Nelson of Clive, IA; his brothers, Wayne Nelson (Janice) of Maryville, MO, Dale Nelson of Springfield, MO, David Nelson (Susie) of Ravenwood, MO and James Nelson (Joyce) of Albia, IA; and his sister-in-law Kathy Nelson. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
