She was predeceased by: her parents, John Franklin and Tressie Opal Harrison (McLey); her former husband Carl W. Slaughter, I; her husband Robert; and her sisters, Carmaleta Medlin, Mary McKinny and Joanell Mullen.

She is survived by: her son Carl W. "Bill" Slaughter, II; her grandsons, Jason Slaughter (Jill), Jeremy Slaughter (Kimberly) and Joshua Slaughter (Kari); her great grandchildren, Lakessha Hamaker (Hunter), Jade Slaugher, Aubrey Slaughter, Jaxon Slaughter, Brittany Slaughter, Ivee Slaughter, Sammy Slaughter, Charlie Slaughter and Kenize Slaughter; and her great great grandchild Myla Hamaker.
