He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Katie; and his nephew Donnie Hicks. He is survived by: his former wife Margo Kleinheksel; his daughter Stephanie; his wife Linda Chandler; his sons, Shane and Mike; his sister Judi (George); and his siblings-in-law, Bobby Chandler (Mari) and Cherie Chandler Newell (Bob).
He continued making barrels until Alzheimer's started clouding his ability to work and he was forced to retire.
