He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen L. Long and Thelma "Louise" Long (Whited); and his sister Lynda Long. He is survived by: his wife Mary Bumgardner; his daughters, Jennifer Findley (Rocky Dunkin) of Trenton, MO and Emily Sunderman (Derek) of Lathrop, MO; his grandchildren, Jenna, Bailey, Ella, Hadlie, Blaine, Ava, Parker, Ryder, Kelsyn and Soldier; and his siblings, Doug Long (Penny) of Bethany, MO, Mark Long (Karen) of Cameron, MO and Myra Moore of Lee's Summit, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of students and friends.
