He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bernie; his children, Tamara Dunagan (Kevin) and Christopher; his grandchildren, Jared, MaryClaire Dunagan, Greyson, Emma and Amelia Van; his siblings, Bill (Minerva), Bob (Joyce) and Lise Hanson; his parents, Margaret "Lala" Arsdale and William O. "Van" Van Arsdale; and his brother Charles Van Arsdale.
