Geraldine Blackman Sturges Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Blackman Sturges of Bernie, Missouri, who passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ernest Zimmerman and Nora Ethel McGowan Zimmerman; her former husband Denzil Louis Blackman; her son Kent Blackman; her children-in-law, Brenda Kay Adams Blackman and Ronald Dan Hartwick; and her siblings, Hershel Zimmerman, Melvin Zimmerman, Howard Zimmerman, Lloyd Zimmerman, Harold Zimmerman, Pearl Mickey, Dimple Miller and Marjorie Zimmerman.
She is survived by: her spouse Rollan Sturges; her children, Keith Blackman (Elaine) of Brookland, Tony Blackman of Belton, Texas, Karen Hartwick of Campbell and Tammy Kincade (Joe); and her grandchildren, Shannon Hartwick of Bella Vista, Monica Weidenbenner of Glennonville, Brent Blackman of Jonesboro, Brian Blackman of Fayetteville, Bryce Blackman of Bogota, Laura Beth Horn of Harrison, Weston Kincade of Cleveland, Tiffany Kincade of Rome, Ashley VanGundy of Richland and Allen Blackman of Syracuse. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; also by other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mathis Funeral Home - Bernie (113 W Crumb Ave, Bernie, MO 63822).
