She was predeceased by: her parents, Rueben Whitehead and Louise Green Whitehead. She is survived by: her children, Joe Anthony Scales (Laura) of Dade City, Florida and Kelly Owens (Dwight) of Bernie, Missouri; her brother Mike Whitehead of Bernie, Missouri; her sister-in-law Annita Hurley of Bernie; her grandchildren, Lindsey Scales, Rachel Scales, Krystal Hobgood (Derek) and Waylon Owens (Kendra); and her great grandchildren, Bella, Mila, Vance Owens, Dalton and Cane Hobgood. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home - Bernie (113 W Crumb Ave, Bernie, MO 63822). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery (17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825).
