She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Eberwein and Estella Eberwein (Kummer); and her brothers, Orland and Glenn Eberwein. She is survived by: her husband Fred Mertz; her children, Steven Mertz of Ludington, Michigan, Brian Mertz (Yadira) of Hermann and Barbara Mertz-Unger (Ray) of Troy, Missouri; her sister Frances Hellwig of Hermann, Missouri; her grandchildren, David Mertz, Lauren Westermann and Sarah DeLong; and her great grandchildren, Will, Graham, Nolan, James and Marie.
Memorials may be given to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church or Celiac Disease Foundation.
