He is survived by: his sisters, Teresa Mendez-Quick and Amalia Mendez of Kansas City, MO; his partner Lee Ann Ellis; his daughters, Gabriella Mendez (Chad), Jennifer Mendez (Edward) and Amy Pendleton (Steven); and his grandchildren, Edward Diaz III (Toni), Drew Diaz (Sara), Gabriel Diaz, Vera Pendleton and Robert Pendleton. He is also survived by his 8 great-grandchildren.
