It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bennie Lee Winnie of Belton, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Winnie and Clara Winnie (Lumley); his former wife Jo Ann Ramel; his wife Dorothy J. Owens; and his children, Lee Thornton (Sandy) of Springfield, MO, Rev. Ron Thornton (Bonnie) of Shawnee Mission, KS, Catherine Brodie (Michael) of Independence, MO, David Lee Winnie (Anna Marie) of Ft. Meyers, FL and Linda McCale (David Leon) of Belton, MO. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
