She was predeceased by: her parents, William M. Brooks and Lettie K. Brooks (Shipp); her husband Harold Frank Sumpter; her grandchildren, Bradley Halbert and Kerry Askew; her son-in-law Lindell Halbert; and her siblings, Calvin, Claude, Clifford, Cletus, Clyde Brooks, Beulah Harbison and Pauline Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Halbert, Connie Askew (John) and Dean Sumpter (Lesa); and her grandchildren, Amy, Angie, Amanda, Tracy, Jill, Kayla, Alanna, Neil, Amber, Derek, Nicholas, Quince, Erica, Michelle, Glenn, Randy and Kaleb. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
