She was predeceased by: her parents, George Kemple and Nannie Kemple (Monroe); her husband Milford Paul Spurgeon; and her siblings, Glenn, Mary, Marjorie, Kay and Carol.

She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Spurgeon (Vivian) of Union, Kathy Smith (Eddie) of Camdenton, Ed Spurgeon (Mary) of Owensville, Sam Spurgeon of Mission, Kansas and Bonnie Elrod (Jim) of Belle; her sister Nancy Ford (Pat) of Victoria; and her brother-in-law Roger Spurgeon (Phyllis) of Waterloo, Illinois.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
