He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Holmes (Ethyl) and Ethyl Totten; his former wife Anna Holmes; and his wife Joanna Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Dinah Kay Strader of Beaufort, Debra L. Wheeler (Dennis) of Beaufort and Gary S. Holmes of Beaufort; his stepson Chris Garret of Sullivan; his sister-in-law June Payne of Central City, KY; and his grandchildren, Ronald Meyer, Brian Meyer, Brad Meyer, Sherri Sowards, Jennifer Poppe, Danielle Everhart, Daniel Holmes, David Holmes, Kristi Bromley and Angela Holmes. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations to Union Baptist Temple are preferred.
