He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Brown and Elsie Brown (Sutterfield); and his brother Jim Brown. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ellen Brown (Johnson); his children, Ronald D. Brown, Jr. of Pevely, John M. Brown of Pevely, Rhonda S. Barton (Perry) of Cherryville and Shirley Y. Brown of Desloge; his siblings, Jay Brown (Sandy) of DeSoto, Gary Brown (Darlene) of Herculaneum, Danny Brown (Linda) of DeSoto, Judy Marler of Pevely, Karen Caldwell (Shawn) of DeSoto and Sandy Boyd (Bob) of Park Hills; and his sister-in-law Carol Brown. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
