He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Bennett Walton. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Bernskoetter (Bill) and Jennifer Duran (Charles); his grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Haley, Ainsley, Isabella, Rebecca and Sabrinna; his sisters, JoAnn Hinzman (Buddy) and Carolyn Rosenbalm (late Jack); his girlfriend Nancy Ann Merten; his partner's children, Kristina Rauscher (Steve) and Brad Merten; and also, Ava, Dylan and Brennan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Missouri Botanical Garden in memory of John Walton.
