He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Anna Tapy; his daughter Linda McMahan; his parents, Henry Tapy and Marie Tapy; and his sisters, Marie Kemp, Virginia Tapy, Dorothy Tapy, Alice Hunter and Audrey Verble.
He is survived by: his children, Hank Tapy and Julia Koberlein; his grandchildren, Steven, Christopher McMahan, Douglas Koberlein, Lara and Jack Tapy; and his sisters, Wanda Shipley and Caroline Breneiser.
