He was predeceased by: his parents, William Melvin and Cora Alice Baker Smith; and his siblings, William Smith, Freddie Smith, Arnett Smith, Melvin "Bud" Smith, Gene Smith, Dean Smith, Thelma Plank, Wilma Stamper, Violet Smith and Ruthene Justis.
He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Ronald Dwain (Kathy), Sandra Lynn Bequette (Jeff) and Susan Renee Arnold (Dave); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Kaity, Jessica, Jordan, Jesse, Rebekah, Rachel, Alyssa, Anna, Jonah and Sarah.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
