He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Essmyer and Agnes Essmyer; and his brother Robert Douglas Essmyer. He is survived by: his siblings, Dale Essmyer (Belinda) and Marcia Williams (late Curtis Jr.); and his nieces and nephews, Caitlin Ewart (Travis), Michael Essmyer and Candace Williams.
