With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara J. Mappes of Ballwin, Missouri, who passed away on August 5, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smith and Jean Smith; and her brother Steve Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Beth Handley (Kevin) of University City, MO and Laura Espelin (Christopher) of Belmont, MA; her grandchildren, Henry, Meg, Franny (University City), Nate and Nicollette of Belmont, MA; her brothers, Pat Smith and Mike Smith of Toldeo, OH; and her sister-in-law Barb Smith of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Louis Zoo or Catholic Charities of St. Louis.
