He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Ellis and Fannie Barnett Ellis; his daughter Donna Pool; his siblings, Jake, Woody and Peggy; his grandson Jeffrey Ellis; and his great grandchild Jasper Pool.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Morrison Ellis; his sons, James Terry Ellis (Diana) and Garry Ellis (Gail); and his grandchildren, Holly Anderson (Bobby), Bradley Ellis (Renee), Christopher Ellis (Jessie), Dustin Pool and Maranda Kimberly (Aaron). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
