He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eugene Coy Carter and Jewell Georgene Smith Carter; his spouse Biddie Smith; his sister Vivian Lynch; his nephew James Curtis Kirkland; his children, Gwendolyn David (Buck) of Branson and John Carter Jr. (Sabrina) of Mansfield; his grandchildren, Jessica Woody, Austin Forrest, Allison Forrest, Destiny Hatfield, Tyler David, Coy Carter, Cody Carter and Tallana Carter; and his brothers, Marshall Carter (Judy) of Independence and Rex Carter. He was also cherished by eight great-grandchildren.
