He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Smith and Lenore Sanders Smith (Short); and his brother Ronald Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lynda Smith (Croney); his children, Greg Smith (Sonya) of Nixa and Crystal Warren (Jasper) of West Plains; his grandchildren, Natalie Rodgers (Chris), Tanza Smith, Canyon Smith, Bryn Smith, Weston Warren (Allison), Kendra Shankle (Justin), John Garrett Warren, Drew Rodgers (Michaela), Landon Rodgers and Jace Rodgers; his great grandchildren, Remi, Kimber Shankle, Halynn Rodgers and Langston Warren; his sisters, Maggie Newton, Shirley Hambelton, Sharon Wilson (Don) of Ozark and Connie Collins of Dora; and his close friend Elvis Franks.
